Q.) How and why do wrinkles form?

A.) As women, we animate our faces so much more-whenever we laugh, cry, chat, gossip, share secretes and spill beans! Aren’t our faces so expressive? The very fact that our faces are so expressive causes expression lines to be formed on our faces very quickly, without most of us even realising it.

These lines are early wrinkles that continue as expression lines on our faces even after we stop making expressions. Most of us don’t realise this, but have started forming expression lines post 30. However, we continue ignoring these expression lines. They become deeper static lines that remain on our face at all times.

Q.) Is BOTOX a brand name?

A.) BOTOX is a registered trademark of Allergan Inc., USA. BOTOX is manufactured and marketed by Allergan Inc., USA.

Q.) How does BOTOX work?

A.) It’s simple. BOTOX relaxes the tiny facial muscles that cause expression lines, leaving the overlying skin smooth and unwrinkled. Thus the line gradually smoothens out from disuse and new creases are prevented from forming. Simply translated it means one has a face that looks a lot younger and fresh.

Q.) Does BOTOX act a specific part of the face or does it act on other parts too?

A.) That’s the beauty of BOTOX. It works only on that particular area for which treatment is sought. For instance, it does not affect the other muscle responsible to raise the eyebrows, and so natural expression is maintained. It will not freeze facial expressions. It softens them and works only where one wants it to.

Q.) Are there any side effects of BOTOX?

A.) BOTOX is approved by US FDA for cosmetic use. There is no report of serious allergic reaction or other significant side effects such as bruising.
BOTOX has been in use for over 15 years and its safety in long-term use has been well established.

Q.) How much time does the BOTOX therapy take?

A.) Ten minutes. Yes, that’s all it takes to get treated with BOTOX. That is why it is known as a ‘lunch-time procedure’. Just a few tiny injections relax the muscles that cause age related line to form. The muscles are kept relaxed for 4-6 months. In the process, one gets a new younger look.

Q.) Is BOTOX a painful therapy?

A.) Most people describe it as an ant-bite sting for a few seconds. The person goes through none of the discomfort they perceive. The doctor determines where to use BOTOX, to achieve best results.

Q.) How long does the BOTOX effect last?

A.) As every person is different from the other, it depends entirely on the individual, but a single treatment of BOTOX will normally last for approximately 4-6 months and eventually there is a gradual fading of its effects. At this point, it’s advisable to return to the doctor to continue treatment.

Q.) How long does it take to see the results?

A.) The results are dramatic and apparent within a few days. After the injection, it takes 2-3 days for BOTOX to begin taking effect and around 10-15 days to see the full effect.

Q.) What is Mesotherapy?

A.) Mesotherapy is a medical specialty that involves injecting microscopic quantities of natural extract pharmaceuticals and vitamins into the skin. It can be used to eliminate cellulite, treat aging skin and redundant (sagging) skin, and rejuvenate the hands and neck.

Q.) Which cosmetic conditions can Mesotherapy treat?

A.) It is employed to treat cosmetic conditions like acne, pigmentation, cellulite, stretch marks, wrinkles and dull skin.

Q.) What are Mesotherapy’s anti-aging and skin rejuvenation uses?

A.) Subdermal vitamin injections rejuvenate the cells, making them more active, and thereby stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

Q.) Are the treatments painful?

A.) You may feel a slight pinching or burning sensation when the injections are administered.

Q.) What is Microdermabrasion?

A.) Microdermabrasion is a moderate form of exfoliation. microdermabrasion involves the use of crystals suspended in a cream to abrade or to rub away the top layers of the dermis skin. It removes the top layers of the skin thus encourages the lower layers to produce new cells faster, improving skin tone and getting rid of superficial skin problems.

Q.) What types of skin conditions can microdermabrasion help with?

A.) In addition to just improving overall skin tone, making skin smoother and more elastic, microdermabrasion can help with any number of superficial skin conditions. By removing the top layers of the skin, many conditions are simply lifted away and new undamaged skin replaces it.

Here are just a few of the conditions microdermabrasion has been reported to help with:

  • hyperpigmentation (dark spots)
  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • mild to moderate acne
  • acne scarring
  • shallow scars
  • stretch marks
  • uneven skin tone
  • white and black heads
  • enlarged pores
  • dull skin

Q.) What is the difference between microdermabrasion and dermabrasion?

A.) As the prefix “micro” implies, microdermabrasion is a “littler” version of skin abrasion. Dermabrasion often is performed in a hospital or clinic environment. It’s much more invasive. So much more so that it often requires anesthesia and can require an overnight stay. Dermabrasion is done using a spinning metal wheel to “sand” down the skin. The recovery is much longer and more complex than microdermabrasion and can involve antibiotics, special creams, etc. Dermabrasion is, of course, often necessary to treat deeper scars and other skin problems. But, microdermabrasion is very effective for many superficial problems and is far less expensive and invasive.

Q.) Does microdermabrasion hurt?

A.) A some discomfort might be expereinced with a microdermabrasion treatment.

Q.) What should I expect after the microdermabrasion treatment?

A.) Immediately afterwards your skin might feel a little sensitivity, and will probably be pinker or redder than normal. You might experience some peeling and dryness. It’s important to keep the skin well hydrated with a good moisturizer during this time and to avoid harsh chemicals on your face. It’s also very important to keep sunscreen on during this time.

Q.) When can I expect to see results?

A.) normally the results are visible after the first treatment but for optimum results 4 to 5 sessions are required.

Dermaroller medical procedure is administered by a qualified medical practitioner trained in the use and application of this treatment. Dermaroller therapy provides advanced micro skin-needling, a procedure that stimulates skin to regenerate creating smoother, brighter and healthier younger looking skin.
An anaesthetic cream (LMX4) is applied liberally over the area to be treated for approximately 30-45 minutes prior to treatment. This cream is then removed and the Demaroller medical device is applied over the skin with several passes, to ensure the most effective micro needling is achieved.

Q.) What can Dermaroller be used for?

A.) Its role is to regenerate skin tissue so is ideal for:
Acne Scars
Aged and damaged skin
Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles
Stretch marks
It can be used anywhere on the body, face, hands, feet, chest, back, legs and arms.

Q.) Is it painful?

A.) Local anaesthetic cream applied at least 30 minutes prior to treatment to ensure the procedure is as comfortable as possible.

Q.) How will I look after treatment?

A.) Your skin will appear a little red, comparable to that of mild sunburn, this could continue for up 1 to 2 hours post treatment and would normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day. Your skin may feel warm and tighter than normal. Use only tepid water to cleanse the face for the following 24 hours and make up can be applied 12 hours after treatment.

Q.) When can I see the results?

A.) You would expect to see the maximum effects at 6 weeks.

Q.) Do I need to repeat treatments?

A.) Depends on the skin conditions.

Wart removal

Q.) What Is A Wart?

A.) Warts are generally small tumors that form around our feet and on our hands.

Q.) Are Warts Common?

A.) Yes! Warts are extremely common and affect many people worldwide. Warts are very contagious and spread from person to person easily. Most of the time warts are passed on via skin-to-skin contact with someone suffering from the human papillomavirus (HPV), the virus that causes warts.
