The Anaesthesiology department of Mayom Hospitals provides expert care in the Pre Anesthetic Checkup Clinic (PAC), Operation Theaters (OT), Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Surgical & Medical Intensive Care Unit ((SICU & MICU), Pain Clinic and the Emergency Room (ER). The Department caters to General & Laparoscopic Surgery, GI surgery, Orthopedics & Trauma, Joint Replacements, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Plastic Reconstructive surgery, ENT and Head Neck Cancer Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Thoracic and vascular surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology and Trauma care.
The 6 OTs are extremely spacious and well planned with laminar flow air conditioning and Hepa filters to maintain absolute sterility. Each OT is equipped with the latest generation low flow Anaesthesia workstations with built-in ventilators. Modern modular monitors are used for continuous monitoring of Pulse, Blood pressure, ECG, temperature, invasive pressures, end tidal CO2 and anaesthetic gases. The OT’s function during office hours for elective surgeries and round the clock for emergency surgeries. For post- operative care of patients, the PACU (6 bedded) has piped gases and multi-parameter monitors on each bed.
The department takes an active part in managing patients in the trauma / emergency ward and in the intensive medical and surgical care units.

The clinic runs 24× 7 days a week
To keep abreast of the latest, the members of the department organize and regularly attend various scientific meetings where they present research papers and deliver lectures.
